Power

One thing I have missed from the panhandle is the big booming storms and all of the excitement surrounding them, I'd love to chase tornadoes. Well this year, things have been pretty wild down here in DFW. We had our 3rd potential tornado issue tonight and this time a storm to make the panhandle proud pounded us with booming thunder and lighting. It cancelled the Ranger game, but I'm sad to report that no Yankees were injured..ha. Just delayed another game of bad pitching, hitting and defense by the Rangers, but that's another rant for another day. Anyway, the storm knocked out our power about 7:30.
Well, it's amazing how much my life revolves around power. TV, computer, light, all things I rely on so much. It is kind of unsettling really. After the storm had passed, I walked around for about an hour sitting outside, calling my dad, sitting outside talking to Misty. Misty took a bath in the dark, Ryan pooped out around 7:45, all of the dark (and wrestling with Dad) made him tired. We did discover the greatness of the flash light in the dark. He loves the hand figures on the wall, thinks I'm the funniest dude ever by making faces in the light. I hope I stay the funniest guy ever in his opinion, that's cool. Well the play and dark wore me out too, after walking around aimlessly for a while, I found myself falling asleep on the couch and when the power came back on at 10:30, I woke up.
The question is, what would we do without power or heck even TV and stuff like that? Would we all have better relationships with our spouses and families? Probably. So we may just declare a few nights a month, no power night and enjoy each other's company rather than be consumed with some of these material things that might interfere with what we should be doing sometimes.
God has interesing ways to speak to you sometimes.
