Tomahawk CHOP!

My big complaint about many Yankee or Red Sock fans is that most of them probably have never been to Yankee Stadium or Fenway, bandwagon fans if you will. Well in the midst of another awful Texas Rangers season, Keith and I decided we needed to find a secondary team to give us something good for a baseball season since the good ol Rangers can't. So we chose the Atlanta Braves, for many reasons. We really like their good young players (fantasy baseball driven), they are a good organization, have cool uniforms and personally for me my late Grandad was a huge Braves fan and it just seemed right. So we began following them closer and then decided to make sure we could consider ourselves fans, we flew out there to watch a game...we were not going to do the great game a disservice by bandwagon jumping.
Are we official or what? Even got on the field!

An official review of the stadium: Great place to watch a game, the weather was great, we sat 16 rows up on the 3rd base line and just had a great time. For those of you who know the tomahawk chop, it is very cool in person. We even did the chop with the crowd to seal our official status. Check out this massive scoreboard, felt like it was right in front of me, I think it cost about $10million.

We walked through the Braves museum and saw all of the history from Hank Aaron to Phil Niekro, it was awesome. We watched clips of the 1995 World Series and just drempt about our Rangers doing that some day. This is what the World Series trophy looks like Rangers' fans, let just hope we get a better look at it someday.

But as we watched the long time Braves fans think about the good ol' days and think about their 13 straight division titles, we realized that we could be Braves fans, but our hearts belong to the Rangers, despite our crowning achievements being 3 playoff appearances and first round exits to the Yankees all 3 years in over 30 years of baseball...sad huh? We will get there someday, when? I hope before I'm dead.

Did you know that Turner Field, was originally the Olympic Stadium? They used it for the Olympics (we saw the torch btw) and then remodeled into the baseball stadium.

Various pics...

Pretty cool, that's the 7th different major league park I've seen a game at.
Rangers Ballpark
Yankee Stadium
Fenway Park (Red Sox)
Minute Maid (Astros)
Busch Stadium (the old one) Cardinals
Coors Field (Rockies)
Turner Field (Braves)
Only 23 more! (if you don't count the new Cardinals and the new Yankee one being built) Little ways to go............

How fun! I'm glad that you're still supporting the Rangers and aren't completely a traitor. That would be really cool to get to visit all of the stadiums.
