Well Done Rangers

Here's a cool story that my boss told me today that further proves that this is the year for the Rangers.

He is coaching a 5 year old T-Ball team and has had a few practices. After a couple of practices you can tell which kids know what baseball is and which kids don't. He had one little boy that was gung ho from the beginning, he want to Ranger games with his dad and knew a ton about baseball (which is the situation I plan on Ryan being in) but I digress. Anyway, he's a huge baseball fan and Ranger fan and counts down the days and hours until each T-Ball practice.
Well over spring break he and his family were out camping in Tyler and all of the sudden he fell to his knees in pain and could not describe what was going on. So his parents rushed him to the hospital in Tyler, and they didn't know exactly what the problem was, only that it was in his appendix area. They then took him to Cook's children's hospital and it turns out that his "yoke" broke. I know..the yoke?? Apparently the yoke is something that a fetus uses to get its nutrition in the womb before it develops a fully functional amibilical cord and it almost always breaks in every baby as soon as the cord develops. Well this kid's didn't and it finally did at 6 years old. So it was basically like his appendix burst and toxins flooded his body. This only happens 12 times a year or so..it's that rare.
He'll be ok, but what worries everyone is how he'll take the news that he has to sit out this season. So my bosses wife called the Rangers and explain the situation to them and asked if a player or someone could visit him since he's such a big fan. Well they said that all of the players are in Arizona, but they would contact them. She hangs up thinking that they might do something, but later that day they find out the Rangers called this kid's parents and set up a time to bring him a goodie bag to the hospital after his parents broke the news of a lost season. COOL!! So great to hear things like that happen, especially from your favorite team. God even works through the baseball.
